How do you Ceramic Coat a car?2023-10-17T15:03:42+10:00

We firstly prepare the car with adequate procedures. Decontamination clean, clay bar, paint correction, final alcohol wipe down followed by the application of the ceramic coating, which is applied with an applicator block and suede, with the drip emitter. The freshly ceramic coated paintwork is then buffed (flashed) streak free with lint free cloths to ensure a clean mirror like finish without any high spots. Following these steps we have complete clarity results without any polishing swirls, sanding etches, holograms or rainbow effect high spots.

How long has your company been Ceramic Coating for?2023-10-17T15:04:11+10:00

Why do I need car ceramic protection?2023-10-17T14:53:38+10:00

Car ceramic protection offers multiple benefits. It provides a protective barrier against environmental contaminants like bird droppings, tree sap, and road salts. It also offers UV protection, preventing paint fading, and makes the car easier to clean due to its hydrophobic properties. Additionally, it enhances the car’s appearance by adding depth and shine to the paint.

What is the difference between New Car Protection, Paint Protection Film & Ceramic Coating2023-09-30T21:57:16+10:00

New Car Protection is a holistic treatment for brand-new vehicles to maintain their pristine condition. Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a thick, clear film applied to shield a car’s paint from physical damages like stone chips. In contrast, Ceramic Coating is a liquid polymer that bonds with a car’s paint, offering protection against contaminants and UV rays while enhancing its shine.

Do you need to polish before Ceramic Coating?2023-10-18T11:14:08+10:00

Yes. We will always perform a polish with the necessary steps to ensure the paint is as pure as can be prior to completing the paint protection process which then seals in the pre-existing paint condition.

Will I need to polish my car if its brand new?2023-10-18T11:14:38+10:00

Yes. Even if a car is brand new, we can generally find imperfections in the newest of cars. In reality, brand new cars are kept in yards, handled many times, on and off trucks and ships just to get to Australia, over several months. They are never TRULY brand new.

Where do you do Ceramic Coating in Brisbane?2023-10-18T11:15:18+10:00

We can perform Ceramic Coating in two Brisbane Locations. One is our Ceramic Coating headquarters at 6/210 Robinson Road East, Geebung, and the other location is in Eagle Farm by appointment only. We also can perform Ceramic Coating applications in Gold Coast, in Bundall, which is also by appointment.

Lastly, we can perform Mobile Ceramic Coating services. Mobile detailing and ceramic paint protection services attract a fee, depending on your location and the application suitability may require confirmation as there are some contingencies when it comes to performing ceramic coating on cars as a mobile service.

How much does Ceramic Coating cost?2023-10-18T11:22:25+10:00

Ceramic coatings are all over the board when it comes to pricing. This is not the market to be comparing by price. This is the market where the poor man can pay twice. You will find the value in your service, what you can entrust is a professional ceramic coating application and its results should speak for themselves.

You can expect Ceramic Coating to cost $1500 for Sedan/Hatch/Coupe sized NEW Cars and $2000 for Dual-Cab Utes/SUV/American Vehicle NEW Cars. There would be additional costs involved if your car is not NEW and requires further preparation requirements to perfect the paintwork prior to the ceramic coating application.

What’s the difference between Ceramic Coating and Graphene Coating?2023-10-18T11:23:24+10:00

Graphene Coatings are like Ceramic Coatings however Graphene Coatings contain one layer carbon atoms and is the strongest material that exists on the earth. However, its usage in automobile industry and in general is still being explored and researched.

It is also quite hard to apply in comparison to Ceramic Coatings as its tight, thick, gel-like substance makes for a serious task to get perfect on the paint. Coating products also emit certain vapours which aren’t necessarily fine to breathe in, however Graphene is not good for humans to inhale, so we are careful as we occasionally perform these installs.

For Ceramic Coatings, these are liquid protection agents as well, however, don’t quite have the rock-hard benefit once finished like Graphene Coatings do. They are made of a silicon dioxide (SiO2) compound and provides significantly better protection than traditional waxes and sealants. It does this through nanotechnology that allows the product to bond to your paint, wheels, glass, and trim at a molecular level. This fills in microscopic pits and grooves in your paint leaving a hydrophobic surface that is so smooth that it feels “slick” to the touch.

It helps keep your car much cleaner for longer and takes very little effort to wash when it is needed, so it can save you a lot of time. It also helps enhance the overall shine of the car, keeping that new car feeling lasting much longer, which nobody seems to have a problem with! We also can supply Graphene Coating installs here.

The dealership said they have a lifetime Warranty on their Ceramic Coating, how long is your Warranty?2023-10-18T11:23:55+10:00

Firstly, Ceramic Coatings have only been around the automotive industry for a decade or so, not a lifetime. We encourage you to check the fine print in their Terms and Conditions and compare it to ours. It’s chalk and cheese. This is why we promise a 10-year warranty, because it’s realistic and doesn’t have more clauses than a government contract!

The dealership said they will do my Paint Protection cheaper than your quote; can you match or beat their price?2023-10-18T11:24:36+10:00

Dealerships are there to sell cars, not to price down a detailing business. We have seen countless times dealership “Ceramic Coating” applications fail, underperform and on some instances, not even get done! They took the clients’ money and literally did nothing. Well, this is our business. We look after your car and provide protection solutions. You decide if our price is worth it.

I got Ceramic Coating from the dealership but it’s not beading water anymore, what do I do?2023-10-18T11:25:20+10:00

Come in for a complimentary check! The chances are that the coating is not performing as the paint is contaminated, or it was not applied correctly/the surface was not prepared correctly or in some cases, not applied at all!

Should Ceramic Coating always be hydrophobic and appear to be beading water?2023-10-18T11:30:19+10:00

Typically, yes. One would argue that while it’s not hydrophobic in performance, that the surface is still “protected” however it does not provide physical protection like PPF does (Paint Protection Film), so if the paint doesn’t appear to be slick and beading adequately, then you would tend to find the paint becoming susceptible to staining and other concerns, which gives an adverse performance to what ceramic coating is meant to do. Think about that for a second.

I have water spots on my paint, how do I fix them?2023-10-18T11:30:57+10:00

We generally advise to test white vinegar over a few washes. 1:5 ratio mixed in with your normal wash solution, which should be pH neutral. Vinegar can assist in reversing the chemical reaction that mineral deposits and limescale build up which form these water spots on your paint. Problem is if they are left too long, they can etch into your paint and glass which would then require polishing and other methods to rectify. When we polish, we would remove any pre-existing coatings on such surfaces, so you would need to consider that you may need to follow through with a ceramic coating.

Does Ceramic Coating stop stone chips?2023-10-18T11:31:46+10:00

Unfortunately, no. Ceramic Coating works as a “clean easy” mechanism. Ceramic Paint Protection essentially creates a hydrophobic surface for your paint work to repel the elements such as dirt, rainwater, bird, and tree droppings etc. It can reduce washing time dramatically as most contamination will simply slide off, without needing to rub stains vigorously. Ceramic Coating also means that your car should stay looking cleaner for longer, which means more time between washes. It really does give you time back. The only thing is it is not a substitute to the task of washing your car – washing still must be done. Come in for a demonstration if none of this is making sense!

Does Ceramic Coating stop water spotting?2023-10-18T11:32:17+10:00

We wouldn’t say it stops water spotting, but it does help. Water spotting comes from mineral build up in water and can spot once left on any surface for a short and long period of time. Add in some heat (from the sun) to the equation and you’ll make things worse. So, washing in the sun is a big no no!

Water from your mains taps of the house (from the council supplied water) will generally contain certain minerals which is no good to sit around, and this is why our shower screens get stained. Water from a rainwater tank can actually be quite a good solution but it does come down to how well the water is filtered prior to coming out onto the car.

If you’re out on a beach and get some splashes from the ocean, that water has a huge salt concentrate that it will not only leave stains but can lead to rusting in certain unprotected areas such as under your car (this is why we provide under body rust protection).

In short, we always recommend washing your car and rinsing off thoroughly, followed with a drying towel or two to make sure it’s completely dry. Don’t let the water stay sitting on your car.

More to the question, if your car has ceramic coating, it will make it more resilient to spotting because of its hydrophobic properties and in general, help keep the water off without sitting around which is what leads to spotting in the first place.

A good ceramic coating will provide a good base of protection for what would usually stain your clear coat, the coating will repel harsh stains and contamination. Your paint is safe.

Does Ceramic Coating self-heal?2023-10-18T11:35:58+10:00

Unfortunately, not – you’re best reading the answer to the above question as it explains the difference and properties with PPF and Ceramic Coating Paint Protection options.

Does Graphene Coating self-heal?2023-10-18T11:36:22+10:00

Graphene Coating is a new Paint Protection solution to the market and while it is also a liquid based application product, it is meant to be thicker (around 40 microns thick) and if you read the answer to the question two points above, it provides more substance than a normal Ceramic Coating. While it’s still nowhere near the thickness of paint, it still is technically thicker than a normal Ceramic so can provide further protection in some degrees. Graphene has been introduced to the market in a sense that it provides self-healing properties. It does depend on the brand and which product you are using however we have a Graphene Coating currently in development and we can formally announce that it does self-heal very fine/minor scratches – ones you would expect to see from basic washing practices. Though it won’t provide much protection against anything harsher like PPF does, it is a step in the right direction for the economic car enthusiasts.

The dealership said anything to do with the Warranty on my paint will be voided if I use someone else’s Ceramic Coating?2023-10-18T11:38:52+10:00

This line has been thrown around quite loosely lately. Basically, this can’t be true as it wouldn’t be allowed to pass the consumer laws and the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission). Generally, you’ll be looking for a Ceramic Coating which provides its own warranty anyway, which Murano Protective Coatings actually provide a long term warranty, longer than most car manufacturers offer for their overall factory warranty. It’s just something to think about that if your entire base coat upwards decides to start flaking off one day, then that is a vehicle manufacturer issue and none of the fault of the physical paint protection.

Do you offer any assistance with dropping off and picking up my car?2023-10-18T11:40:22+10:00

Yes, we offer concierge services with our KOS AUTOCARE company and can also provide a courtesy vehicle for the duration of your service. Generally, our courtesy vehicles are relevant/current model full sized vehicles safe to get you or your family around.

How long will you need my car for?2023-10-18T11:40:50+10:00

Depending on the size of the car and whether its brand new, or 10 years old (or more) we can take anywhere from a day or two, to a week or two. We will let you know once we have seen your car and understand the project outlines in order to get your car looking showroom condition and prepared adequately to accept your paint protection of choice.
